According to Azfamily , a child from Arizona was killed in a tragic drowning incident. The 12 year old boy fell rapidly into the water near Bridal Veil Falls, Which is north of Provo Utah.
Search and Rescue searched for the boy in Provo. Sgt. Spencer Cannon, from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, reported that the child was spotted multiple times along the river as rescue crews attempted to save him.
A firefighter trained in swift-water rescue eventually jumped into the river, assisted by a search and rescue team member who deployed a rope. Despite their efforts, the boy had been in the water for over 30 minutes and traveled approximately four miles before being rescued.
Tragically, he passed away shortly after being taken to the hospital. While the exact cause of death was not specified, it is suspected to be hypothermia due to the very cold water from spring runoff.
The boy was visiting Utah with his family from Arizona.
