Tempe Police Make Gruesome Discovery: Skeletal Remains Found in Backyard Freezer

TEMPE, ARIZ. – In a shocking development, the Tempe Police Department has arrested 51-year-old Joseph Hill Jr. following the discovery of human skeletal remains inside a freezer located in his backyard.

The investigation began on October 22, 2024, when detectives received an anonymous tip indicating the presence of a dead body in Hill’s residence. Upon arrival, officers attempted to gain access to the freezer; however, Hill refused to allow them to look inside, claiming that the remains were those of his father, who had passed away four years prior.

Undeterred, detectives conducted further research and subsequently obtained a search warrant based on probable cause. During the execution of this warrant, they uncovered the skeletal remains, which are yet to be positively identified.

Hill was arrested and is facing charges of Concealment of a Body, a Class 5 felony, and Failure to Report Death, a Class 2 misdemeanor. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
