Tauren Wells Returns To Host The 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards In Nashville

In addition to being a platinum-selling singer, preacher, and public speaker, Wells is also a husband, father of four kids, and the recipient of eight GMA Dove Awards, including New Artist of the Year and Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year. He has also been nominated for ten GRAMMY Awards and one Billboard Music Award. Furthermore, Wells has amassed over 1.2 billion global streams to date and seven No. 1 tracks.

Tauren mixes elements of pop, hip-hop, and R&B with his modern Christian and gospel sound in a way that is distinctive. Tauren’s fastest-rising single of his career, “Take It All Back,” has been included to over 133K Spotify personal playlists and is a viral success with 62 million global RTD streams. Tauren and his spouse serve as co-lead pastors at Church of Whitestone, which the Wells family established in Austin, Texas, in 2024.

“We have decided to relive the incredible experience of last year’s Dove Awards!” Wells stated in a release. “I’m thrilled to be hosting the Dove Awards again this year. This evening is going to be fantastic!”

The Gospel Music Association is the organization that produces the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Paul Wright and Curtis Stoneberger are producers, and Jackie Patillo and Justin Fratt are executive producers and showrunners. Returning to the director’s chair is Russell E. Hall, while Scott Moore and Go Live Productions handle production. Michael Nolan writes the script.

The schedule for its yearly Music City Fan Experience was also made public by the GMA. A concert in Brandon Lake at the Ryman Auditorium, a new artist showcase with the 2024 class of new artist of the year contenders, a river tour on the General Jackson Showboat with a songwriters showcase, and a GMA Dove Awards ticket are all included. One of the packages includes lodging in Nashville’s downtown.

The GMA debuted a new category on March 26: recorded praise song in Spanish for the year. The new honor joins two existing Latin music categories: the 2017-created Spanish language recorded song of the year and the 1998-established Spanish language album of the year.
