The U.S. Secret Service is currently investigating an allegation of sexual assault involving an active-duty agent and a member of Vice President Kamala Harris’ staff. This confirmation came in a statement released to Newsweek on Wednesday.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred last week in Green Bay, Wisconsin, during an advance trip where the agent and several staff members were dining and consuming alcohol. Sources indicated that the group later returned to the staff member’s hotel room, where the agent allegedly assaulted her in the presence of others.
In response to the allegation, a spokesperson for the Secret Service stated, “The Secret Service Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating a misconduct allegation involving an employee.” They emphasized the agency’s commitment to high standards, noting that the agent involved has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is conducted.
