Raytheon Technologies Secures $1.94 Billion Contract for Standard Missile-3 Block IIA Production

Raytheon Technologies, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, has been awarded a sole-source, hybrid contract valued at $1.944 billion for the manufacture and assembly of Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA All-Up Rounds. This significant contract will fulfill both U.S. government and Japan Ministry of Defense (JMOD) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements.

Under this contract, Raytheon will execute the work across its facilities in Tucson, Arizona, and Huntsville, Alabama. The project is slated for completion by February 28, 2031. 

Funding for the contract includes:

– $583.7 million from Fiscal Year 2023 procurement, Defense-wide funds

– $383.3 million from Fiscal Year 2024 procurement, Defense-wide funds

– $308.5 million from JMOD FMS funds

The Missile Defense Agency, based in Dahlgren, Virginia, is managing the contract, designated as HQ0851-24-C-0001.
