Phoenix Police Seize 70,000 Fentanyl Pills and Firearms in Major Drug Bust

In Phoenix, the Phoenix Police Department recently announced via X (formerly Twitter) that a significant seizure of 70,000 fentanyl pills and three firearms has successfully removed these dangerous items from Arizona’s streets following a drug bust in May.

According to the department’s statement, on May 23, the Phoenix Police 61X Neighborhood Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop that led to the discovery of a “large quantity of fentanyl pills” inside the vehicle.

Following the initial discovery, law enforcement officers proceeded to execute a search warrant at the residence of the suspect, where they uncovered an additional cache consisting of 70,000 fentanyl pills, $13,600 in cash, and three firearms.

The suspect in question has been identified as 25-year-old Alfonso Gudalupe Cardona Barrios. Phoenix police have indicated that he is now facing multiple felony charges in connection with the seized items.
