A Phoenix Police officer was shot and injured and a suspect is dead after a shooting near 110th and southern avenue Tuesday.
The incident took place around 3 am at a phoenix neighborhood near 110th. Police say the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect riding a bicycle.
At one point during the traffic stop gunfire was between at least one officer at the scene and the suspect.The Phoenix Police officer that was shot remains in the ICU awaiting surgery as of 7am Tuesday
. Phoenix Police say the officer was shot in the legThe officer is expected to survive.
The Phoenix Police Department says the suspect died at the hospital and has not been identified. As the investigation is on it way We will update you as things progress.
