Phoenix Police Investigate Tragic Drowning Death of 3-Year-Old

Phoenix, AZ — Police detectives are looking into the drowning death of a 3-year-old boy, who was found floating in a pool on the morning of July 30, 2024.

At around 8:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 6200 East Cactus Road after receiving a report of an injured child. When they arrived, they discovered the young boy in the pool. Phoenix Fire crews quickly arrived at the scene and began life-saving measures before transporting the child to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, the boy was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The scene was secured, and homicide investigators took over the case. Initial investigations, including witness statements and hospital reports, suggest there is no indication of foul play. The Office of the Medical Examiner has taken the child’s body for a postmortem examination.
