Penn Badgley Marks His Last Day of Filming ‘You’ Season Five

Penn Badgley, star of the series, has officially stated that production for the highly anticipated fifth and final season of Netflix’s smash series You has concluded in New York City. Badgley announced his last day on set via a TikTok video, bringing an end to his depiction of the infamous Joe Goldberg and his many names.

With a behind-the-scenes look at Badgley’s final moments as the eerie yet captivating serial murderer, the film also showcased his journey through the character’s multiple identities, such as Professor Jonathan Moore and Will Bettelheim.

Penn Badgley recreates the TikTok trend that content producer Jools Lebron started, sharing a humorous video from his final day on You season 5.

“See how I show up to work? Very demure, very mindful,” Badgley starts the video, emulating Lebron’s stride while toting bulky clothing bags.

“I don’t really do too much when I’m at work. I’m very mindful,” he continues before a still of his character yelling in a glass cage—Goldberg’s go-to technique for imprisoning his victims—appear.

Joking about how his role has been romanticized in the past, the ‘Stepfather’ actor continues, “Playing a romantic icon for five seasons, I’m very modest, I’m very mindful.”

“You see my shirt? Showing the shoulders, not the boulders,” he concludes, which parodies Lebron’s version of “You see my shirt? Only a little chi-chi out, not my cho-cho.”

After seeing a sneak peek of the final season teaser, which suggests a sentimental return to Joe’s New York roots before the Netflix blockbuster concludes, fans of the show are giddy with anticipation.

A TikTok fan expressed regret about the show’s ending, saying, “It makes me sad that the show is ending. Penn Badgley, thank you for portraying Joe Goldberg.”

“Can’t wait for this season!!!!” said someone another, showing how excited they were.
You season 5 filming started in the spring, and now that it’s finished, the show is going into post-production. Although the precise release date has not been announced, there is conjecture that the last season might arrive on Netflix in early 2025—possibly in February or March—in keeping with the release schedule of the previous season.

According to Malta Daily, the upcoming season is expected to have a cast that is interesting and includes Charlotte Ritchie, Anna Camp, Madeline Brewer, and others. It is also anticipated that some famous names from previous seasons will return. The culmination of Joe Goldberg’s sinister adventure, which started in a New York City bookshop and has enthralled audiences all around the world, is anxiously anticipated by fans.
