SEATTLE, WA (June 12, 2024) – A potentially tragic situation in downtown Seattle ended peacefully on Tuesday afternoon. A woman armed with a weapon entered the Federal Office Building, triggering a tense standoff with law enforcement that lasted for about an hour.
Thankfully, the incident resulted in no hostages taken and no injuries reported. According to reports, the woman was experiencing emotional distress and threatening suicide. Thankfully, law enforcement officials were able to successfully de-escalate the situation and take the woman into custody.
The FBI is currently investigating the motives behind the woman’s actions. The incident caused significant disruption in the area, with road closures and a heavy police presence, including SWAT teams. Thankfully, law enforcement officials were able to resolve the situation peacefully.
