Phoenix, AZ — A tragic shooting in south Phoenix has resulted in the death of a 17-year-old male, identified as Aidan Apel. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 1400 S 5th Ave.
Upon arrival, officers found Apel in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate efforts, Apel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several witnesses at the scene assisted police by identifying the suspect. The shooter, a juvenile male, was promptly located and taken into custody. During an interview, the suspect admitted to shooting Apel.
