Late last night, a shooting occurred in the Rio Verde Foothills community near north Scottsdale.
Deputies swiftly responded to the incident at the intersection of 168th Street and Dixileta Drive, just north of Rio Verde Drive.
Tragically, one person lost their life in the shooting.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating, but no suspects are currently at large.
As part of the investigation, officials temporarily closed Dixileta Drive in both directions between 168th Street and 172nd Street.
The road has since reopened around 1:30 p.m.
