Chandler, AZ – A man has been detained following a bomb threat that resulted in the evacuation of a Chandler neighborhood late Sunday evening.
Emergency responders evacuated residents from the 700 block of N. Tangerine Drive, located near Rural and Ray roads, at around 6:30 p.m. after receiving the bomb threat.
The suspect was located hiding inside a house, though it is unclear whether the property was his own. He later surrendered to authorities without incident, and no injuries were reported.
Police have not yet released details regarding the nature of the threat or the suspect’s motive but have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
