Man Arrested for Alleged Homicide in South Phoenix: Latest Updates

Phoenix Az- On Saturday, May 30, 2024, in south Phoenix, Arizona, police responded to a shooting incident at a mobile home near 16th Street and Broadway Road. They found 38-year-old Genoveva Antillon outside the home with a gunshot wound.

Antillon was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The suspect, Maury Williamson, age 35, was arrested in connection with the incident. According to authorities, Williamson initially provided inconsistent statements about the shooting.

However, during further questioning, he admitted to accidentally shooting and killing Antillon while aiming at a dog on the property that he believed was attacking him. Detectives later discovered the firearm used in the incident hidden inside the mobile home.

“While conducting their interviews, detectives spoke to 35-year-old Maury Williamson who provided statements that were inconsistent with the crime scene. He was questioned on those inconsistencies and later admitted to shooting Antillon accidentally when he shot at a dog on the property that he thought was attacking him.

The firearm was found hidden inside the mobile home and recovered by detectives after a search warrant was obtained,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Phil Krynsky.

Manslaughter: Williamson is accused of causing the death of Genoveva Antillon through reckless or negligent actions.
