The Tempe Police Department, in conjunction with the East Valley Critical Response Team (EVCIRT), is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place on September 12, 2024.

TEMPE, ARIZ. – We are providing an update on the incident involving law enforcement that occurred yesterday. The individual involved in the shooting has been identified as Jake R. Carruth, aged 44.
The East Valley Critical Response Team, led by Mesa Police Department, is handling the investigation. For any further details regarding the investigation, please contact Mesa PD directly.
