A significant police response is currently underway at a shopping center in south Scottsdale due to a shooting, authorities have reported.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening just before 6 p.m. near the intersection of Scottsdale and Thomas roads.
Details about the shooting are scarce, and investigators have not yet disclosed the circumstances leading up to the incident.
Aerial footage from Arizona’s Family news helicopter revealed undercover law enforcement vehicles stationed near the Einstein Bros. Bagels shop. It appears that first responders attended to a victim in the parking lot in front of Great Clips, where debris was observed scattered in a parking space.
Scottsdale police officers were also seen behind the Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic on Thomas Road.
Authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat. Officers are advising residents to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
