Former Correctional Officer Indicted for Sexual Abuse at Lewis Prison

Phoenix, AZ – Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has announced the indictment of Ramon Godoy on three counts related to a sexual attack against a female correctional officer.

According to the indictment, the defendant instructed the victim to meet him inside a gymnasium at Lewis Prison on July 7th. There, he allegedly held her in a chokehold while committing sexual abuse. The victim promptly reported the crime to law enforcement.

County Attorney Rachel Mitchell emphasized that trust between colleagues should never be exploited, even within the confines of a correctional facility. “Being a sworn correctional officer does not grant immunity to abuse,” she stated.

Godoy’s charges include:

  • One count of Kidnapping (Class Two Felony)
  • One count of Sexual Abuse (Class Five Felony)
  • One count of Attempt to Commit Sexual Assault (Class Three Felony)

The defendant is currently held on a $75,000 secured appearance bond. For the most up-to-date custody status, please refer to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
