Firefighters worked through the early hours of Sunday morning to control a rapidly spreading fire at a church complex in central Phoenix. The blaze was reported around 1:00 a.m. in the area of 19th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Upon arrival, Phoenix fire officials discovered flames erupting from the church’s gymnasium, which had quickly extended into classrooms on both the first and second floors. Fire crews successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading further.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire. The exact cause of the blaze remains undetermined and is currently under investigation.
