Donovan Mitchell Unveils His Adidas D.O.N. Issue #6

Even though Donovan Mitchell’s Adidas D.O.N. Issue #5 premiere occurred not too long ago at the 2023 MLB Celebrity All-Star Game in July, to be exact, pictures of his next signature have already made the rounds. On Tuesday, Adidas unveiled the sixth version of Donovan Mitchell’s iconic sneaker, the D.O.N Issue 6, which will hit the retail shelves on July 5, 2024.

In an interview with FanNation Kicks, Mitchell expressed his desire for his unique sneakers to look fantastic both on and off the court. It appears that the goal of the adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 is to achieve that.

The gradient mesh upper and vivid colors of the adidas DON Issue 6 make for an eye-catching combination of pink and blue tones. The heel pull tabs and laces include neon green details that give a whimsical touch, while the inside bootie is black for comfort. This shoe perfectly combines support and elegance thanks to its sturdy carbon fiber plate. These shoes will be noticeable on the court as they don’t blend with the most subdued elements of an outfit.

Having worn the brand while attending the University of Louisville, Mitchell inked a contract with Adidas in 2015. Following his rise to prominence as one of the league’s most prolific scorers, Donovan Mitchell unveiled his first signature sneaker, the “Determination Over Negativity,” or D.O.N., back in 2018. In the D.O.N series, he has launched five pairs of sneakers. D.O.N. issue 6 is now available to demonstrate to everyone what can happen when one is determined.

Inspired by Mitchell’s motto, “Determination Over Negativity,” the adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 is meant to inspire athletes who may have been underappreciated to believe in themselves and their abilities. The newest silhouette offers the required cushioning for explosive on-court performance along with improved lockdown and lightweight comfort.

The shoe uses Lightstrike technology in the heel and zonal energy return and forefoot cushioning with Lightstrike Pro to enhance explosiveness. A stable midfoot harness provides increased midfoot lockdown and stability during explosive motions. With its anatomical fit and breathable mesh construction, the top reduces abrasion and distractions while offering optimal comfort.

Mitchell’s D.O.N 6 will be available in blue, green, black, and multicolored versions. It is common for athletes to release additional colors in the future, so the D.O.N 6 will probably follow suit.

On July 5, the adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 will be on sale for $120 USD at Adidas and a few other stores. When they launch next month, these sneakers will be sold both on Adidas online and at reputable brick-and-mortar retailers.
