Colorado Businessman Charged with Felony Assault After Incident at In-N-Out Burger

A Colorado businessman has been charged with felony assault after an altercation at an In-N-Out Burger in Loveland, where he was filmed violently confronting a 15-year-old boy. Lucas Kalisher, 55, the CEO of Summit Source Funding, faces serious legal consequences following the incident that occurred in the early hours of August 4.

According to Loveland Police, Kalisher was dining at the popular fast-food restaurant when the teenage boy, who was engaging in horseplay with friends, accidentally splashed water on Kalisher’s wife. The teenager approached the woman to apologize, but the situation escalated quickly.

Video footage from the scene shows Kalisher grabbing the boy and placing him in a chokehold before throwing him onto the restaurant’s tile floor. Witnesses reported that Kalisher repeatedly told the startled boy to “say sorry” as he restrained him. The video also captured onlookers expressing their dismay over the disproportionate response, with one bystander criticizing Kalisher for “picking on a kid like that.”

Despite the confrontation, Kalisher and his wife left the restaurant before police arrived. However, authorities were able to identify him through witness statements. A no-bond arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday, and Kalisher turned himself in later that evening at 10:33 p.m.

Kalisher has been charged with second-degree assault with strangulation, a felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of child abuse. He is scheduled to appear at his arraignment on Wednesday afternoon.

Kalisher, who is listed as the CEO of Summit Source Funding on his now-deleted LinkedIn and Facebook pages, recently made headlines for purchasing a $1.75 million home in rural Loveland. The property, which includes several paddocks and animal shelters, was featured on Zillow before the listing was removed.

As the legal process unfolds, the community and observers are closely watching the case, which has sparked widespread discussion about appropriate responses to minor offenses and the responsibility of adults in such situations.
