Cash App Users Eligible for $15 Million Settlement

If you’ve been using Cash App since 2018, you might be entitled to a portion of a $15 million settlement. The settlement comes after Block Inc., the owner of Cash App, faced allegations of negligence due to two significant data breaches.

  1. Eligibility:
  • You qualify if:
    • You’ve used Cash App and/or Cash App Investing.
    • Your account was accessed without permission.
    • Unauthorized withdrawals or transfers occurred between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024.
  1. Potential Compensation:
  • Eligible users can claim up to $2,500 for out-of-pocket losses related to data breaches, unauthorized access, or fraudulent transactions. Third-party documentation is required.
  • Additional compensation includes up to $75 for lost time (up to three hours at $25 per hour) and documented transaction losses.
  1. Filing a Claim:
  • Submit your claim by November 18, 2024, either online or by mail.
  • If you don’t want to be part of the settlement or wish to object, send a written notice by November 1.
  • Automatic inclusion in the settlement requires submitting a claim.
  1. Payment Timeline:
  • The final approval hearing is scheduled for December 16, 2024.
  • If approved, payments will follow shortly after.
