Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell Moves to WME Amid Wasserman Music Sexual Allegations

The very popular musician Billie Eilish, who has frequently topped Billboard charts and taken home Grammys and Oscars, has joined WME, terminating their contract with Wasserman Music, along with her brother and colleague Finneas O’Connell.

In January 2023, WME began representing each separately in film and television. With this shift, they can now house all of their demands for solo entertainment.

A representative for Billie Eilish informs The Hollywood Reporter, “While grateful to their former live booking agents at Wasserman, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell have opted to have film, TV, and music handled by the same agency, WME, moving forward.”

“We’re excited to build on our collaboration with Billy and Finneas as they pursue their diverse careers in film, television, and touring,” WME tells Billboard. “Billie and Finneas are generational talents.”

The action was purportedly taken in response to a lengthy piece that the Daily Mail published on August 1st on Wasserman owner Casey Wasserman’s alleged years-long history of sexual misconduct with a number of women, mostly subordinates at his business and others who worked for him while they were still married.

Wasserman and his business have not yet responded to the allegations of wrongdoing. Drake, Kacey Musgraves, Ed Sheeran, Blackpink, Ed Kendrick Lamar, and Coldplay are still some of its largest entertainment customers. Additionally, the company represents well-known athletes including Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, and Klay Thompson.

Early in her career, when she was still performing in clubs, Eilish was represented by Tom Windish and then Sara Bollwinkel when the two worked for Paradigm, which Wasserman acquired in 2021. Mike Malak secured her performances in the UK. Currently, Danny Rukasin and Brandon Goodman of Best Friends Music co-manage Eilish.

Recently, Eilish and FINNEAS performed at the 2024 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony from a beach in Los Angeles, helping to transfer the torch from Paris to SoCal. The two sang the breezy ballad “Birds of a Feather” from Eilish’s third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

After the performance, the song became Eilish’s first-ever number-one on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, peaking at No. 1. With her appearance on the remix of Charli XCX’s “Guess,” which is presently at Nos. 3 and 5, respectively, Eilish is back on those charts.
