Bag of Cocaine Discovered Inside U.S. Capitol Police Headquarters

The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) found a small bag of cocaine in the hallway of its headquarters. Around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, an officer discovered roughly one-inch-by-one-inch bag filled with a white powdery substance. The bag tested positive for cocaine and was located on the second floor in an area used for storing furniture and supplies. This area is frequented by contractors and employees and is near offices such as Prisoner Processing, Crime Scene, Intel, and Reports Processing. The USCP has opened an investigation and will conduct further testing on the residue, including DNA analysis of the bag

“In a press release on the United States Capitol Police (USCP)  Instagram,  they reported that a one-inch by one-inch zip lock bag with a white powdery substance, which field tested positive for cocaine, was discovered in their headquarters.

The small bag was found on the floor of a hallway inside USCP headquarters. The hallway is on the second floor in an area that has been a staging spot for furniture and supplies. The area is heavily trafficked by various contractors and employees. It is also near offices such as Prisoner Processing, Crime Scene, Intel and Reports Processing.

The baggie was found in the middle of the floor just before 1:00 p.m. by an officer, who immediately reported it to a supervisor. The residue was field tested and came back positive for cocaine. The USCP Investigations Division has opened an investigation, which will include further testing of the residue, as well as DNA testing of the baggie. We will provide more information when it becomes available.”
