Oscar Joseph Sandoval was taken into custody last Thursday.
According to court paperwork, investigators said the victim, now 17, talked to them on Sept. 3 and said she had a “friendly relationship” with Sandoval, who worked at Thunderbird High School.
During a football game, Sandoval helped the girl find a place to park and while she was outside her car speaking to him, Sandoval kissed her, court documents said.
Another time, Sandoval told the victim he wanted to show her an art tile in a room so she followed him into a room. That’s when he grinded and inappropriately touched her.
The last incident was when the two were in the fitness room at school and they had sex, police said.
Last Thursday, the teen chatted with Sandoval on Instagram, where he admitted to having sex with her at school and knew she was underage, police said.
Court documents said the final incident happened between Aug. 7, 2023, and Dec. 21, 2023.
Police said they interviewed Sandoval and he told them he started chatting with the girl when she was a junior and admitted to kissing her. Then he ended the interview.
Police recommended multiple felonies but he was indicted on Tuesday on one count of sexual conduct with a minor.
Glendale Union High School District confirmed Sandoval was an employee at the high school and was later fired.
