PHOENIX — Sam Fox, founder of Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts, has left the company, the Phoenix Business Journal reported, via ABC15.
Fox departed Oct. 30 and plans to focus on Author & Edit Hospitality, the company behind the Global Ambassador hotel in Phoenix.
His exit comes seven years after The Cheesecake Factory bought Fox Restaurant Concepts for more than $350 million. Fox said he always knew he would leave at some point and stayed longer because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s time for me to focus on things that I own 100% of and work on some growth of the hotels and maybe a few restaurants,” Fox said. “Also, it’s time for the team at Fox Restaurants to take the reins.”
