Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has a left hamstring strain and will miss time, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on X on Wednesday, citing sources.

Charania reported that Pacers doctors and Haliburton are now working out a clear timeline for his return. The team had not announced a timeline as of Wednesday morning.

The NBA’s official injury report filed Wednesday listed Haliburton as questionable for Indiana’s home game against the Philadelphia 76ers with left hamstring tightness and soreness. That listing came before the ESPN report, and the Pacers had not publicly confirmed a strain.

According to NBC Sports, the hamstring appeared to bother Haliburton during the second half of Monday’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The setback is a tough turn for the two-time All-Star, who only just returned from the most serious injury of his career. Haliburton ruptured his right Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against Oklahoma City and missed the entire 2025-26 season, according to The Associated Press.

He came back strong. In the season opener on Oct. 21, he scored 23 points with 12 assists as Indiana beat New Orleans 123-120, the AP reported. NBA.com reported Wednesday that he is averaging 9.5 assists per game, second in the league.

Indiana’s backcourt was already thin. The injury report lists guard T.J. McConnell as out with a right hamstring strain and Andrew Nembhard as questionable with neck stiffness. NBC Sports noted that Quenton Jackson could see a bigger role if Haliburton sits.

The Pacers are 2-2 to start the season.

Aztimez will update this story when the Pacers announce an official timeline.
