Investigation Underway into Criminal Damage at Tempe Democratic Campaign Office

TEMPE, ARIZ. – The Tempe Police Department is currently investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred shortly after midnight at the Tempe Democratic National Committee campaign office. Detectives are examining the evidence collected, while additional safety measures are being implemented to protect staff and the surrounding community.

On the afternoon of September 23, officers were dispatched to the office located near Southern Avenue and Priest Drive after employees reported discovering apparent gunfire damage to the front windows.

This incident marks the second case of criminal damage at the office within two weeks. On September 16, the front windows were also targeted, reportedly with a BB gun or pellet gun.

“No one was present in the office during the overnight hours, but this situation raises significant safety concerns for both the employees and local residents,” stated Public Information Officer Sgt. Ryan Cook.

The Tempe Police Department is exploring all potential motives behind these acts.
