Atlanta Rapper Rich Homie Quan Passes Away at 33

Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan has passed away, authorities confirmed. The Fulton County Medical Examiner reported that Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta notified its personnel of the rapper’s death on Thursday. He was 33 years old.

The cause and manner of his death have not yet been disclosed, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Rich Homie Quan, whose birth name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, first rose to prominence with his 2013 hit single “Type of Way” and further established his presence in the music industry with the 2015 track “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh).” His contributions to the hip-hop scene earned him a spot in XXL’s inaugural Freshman Class of 2014, alongside other notable artists such as Chance the Rapper and Ty Dolla $ign. He was also nominated for several BET and BET Hip Hop Awards, including Best New Artist and People’s Champ.

Throughout his career, Rich Homie Quan collaborated with prominent figures in the industry, including 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, and Trinidad Jame$.

As of now, his family and management representatives have not provided any comment. Rest in peace, Rich Homie Quan.
