American actress Blake Lively, best known for her role as Serena van der Woodsen in the drama series Gossip Girls, has decided to share the recipe for her gorgeous, healthy, and long hair. She has launched Blake Brown Beauty, her first hair care line, which draws inspiration from her daily routine and is partnered with Give Back Beauty. Pre-shampoo masks, dry shampoos, mousses, leave-in treatments, and two shampoos with matching hair care masks are all part of the new Target collection.
One item in this collection—a conditioner, you might notice—is missing. Surprising? In a Vogue interview, Lively expressed her disapproval of using any type of conditioner, even stating that she doesn’t “knows anyone who uses conditioner in [her] industry.” Rather, the “proprietary plant protein complex” in the recipes is meant to gently cleanse your hair while strengthening, moisturizing, and nourishing it. She stated in a statement, “I switched exclusively to a shampoo & mask system 20 years ago & have never looked back.”

In a statement, Lively discussed the launch and stated, “Blake Brown has been more than a 7-year labor of love. I was motivated to create a high-end, salon-caliber haircare brand that is more easily available, cruelty-free, easier to use, more sustainable, and cleaner than anything I could find online. The key was performance. It took an unreasonable length of time because we were uncompromising, but the end goods are proof of our commitment and stringent quality control. I am really proud. We’ve brought this baby to all of you in collaboration with Target, the trendiest and most accessible retailer around. I’m eager for others to give it a try.”
The Blake Brown collection not only feels like a salon-quality experience and helps even your driest strands feel lustrous and refreshed, but it also has luxe-scented perfumes (Scents include Wild Nectar Santal with notes of bergamot, fig, cardamon and sandalwood). All of the haircare products are vegan and free of parabens, silicones, sulfates, and other potentially irritating substances as part of her mission to demonstrate “how beautiful maximum sustainability can be.”
“It’s been a privilege for me and my team to work with Blake Lively to bring her vision of Blake Brown to life-together we’ve created something distinctive and incredible,” stated Corrado Brondi, the founder of Give Back Beauty.
The eight formulations in the line, which includes two hair masks that promise to permanently replace conditioner, were all made available in Target stores on Sunday, August 4. With prices ranging from $18.99 to $24.99, fans can purchase these reasonably priced hair staples only at Target stores and online at Target.com.
