A fatal shooting occurred at a Knights Inn in Phoenix on July 14, resulting in the death of a man.
Police were called around 5 a.m. to respond to the incident at the hotel located near Interstate 17 and McDowell Road.
Upon arrival, they discovered 47-year-old Moses Ayala, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries later.
Investigators initiated an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the shooting. On July 22, they apprehended a potential suspect, 40-year-old Martin Perez Gonzalez. Police reported that during an interview, Gonzalez claimed self-defense, but this assertion was not supported by evidence. He was subsequently booked on one count of murder.
