Chaka Khan Rocks Her ‘Global Live Music’ Award With Stella McCartney Black Boots

The largest music therapy charity in the UK, Nordoff and Robbins, hosts the esteemed annual O2 Silver Clef Awards. Since 1976, the prizes have generated around £13 million to support individuals with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, brain injuries, terminal diseases, mental health issues, grief, and trauma via transformational music therapy programs.

Chaka Khan, 71, was one of several celebrities honored at the Nordoff and Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards 2024, which took place on July 5 at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London. Other celebrities included Mark Knopfler, AC/DC, Jessie Ware, and Loyle Carner. During the event, the “Through The Fire” vocalist received the “Global Live Music” award.

As she accepted her Global Impact Award at the O2 Silver Clef Awards this year, Chaka Khan said, “Music really does heal.”

“Music has always been my voice, my strength, my solace, a gift,” Khan remarked as she accepted the trophy that was given to her in honor of her 50 years of global influence.

“I am appreciative of this wonderful opportunity to be a member of the Nordoff and Robbins artistic community, where music has the an ability to inspire, change, and spread love around the world,” she said.

Khan went all black, donning a stunning maxi-length dress with a gathered skirt and a drop waist. The belt determined the silhouette of the outfit. The singer of “I Feel for You” also carried a giant pair of eyeglasses with thick black frames and purple-tinted lenses, along with a matching slouchy black leather purse. Khan had a timeless appearance that was enhanced by magnificent accessories.

The revered artist went for an edgy look, donning black Stella McCartney boots. The Ryder stretch bootie type had distinctive square-molded toes that resembled hooves, rusty silver studding just above the soles, side zip closures, and slim 3-inch stiletto heels. It was composed of glossy black material.

Breakthrough composer Jacob Collier, 29, took home the Innovation in Music Award; Cat Burns, 24, of London, won Best New Music; Ezra Collective, a group that defies genre boundaries, took home the Contemporary Music Award; Loyle Carner took home the Best Male Award; and Jessie Ware took home the Best Female Award.
