“Authorities have confirmed that one person was discovered deceased following a fire at a residence in Phoenix on Thursd ay afternoon. The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m., when multiple individuals called 911 after observing smoke emanating from a house near 22nd Street and Monterey Way, south of Osborn Road.
Upon arrival, firefighting crews encountered flames at the back of the house, with the fire spreading to the attic. Both a ladder crew on the roof and firefighters inside the home successfully gained control and extinguished the flames.
During their search inside, firefighters located the body. Remarkably, this marks the second fatal house fire reported in the Valley on the same day. Earlier, around 2:30 a.m., emergency responders pulled an individual from a burning home in Mesa, but unfortunately, the victim did not survive.
Firefighters are actively investigating the cause of the fire, and their efforts continue.”
