It’s time to bid the 2024 Olympic Games farewell, au revoir!
The 2024 Summer Olympics, held in the Stade de France north of Paris, have officially come to an end. This concludes 19 days of breathtaking spectacle, incredible athletic achievements, and thunderous applause from fans in the French capital and throughout the globe.
More over two weeks ago, this stadium saw the boisterous beginning of the Games, with some 80,000 spectators supporting the rugby sevens squad led by French star Antoine Dupont, who went on to win the first gold medal for the host nation.
In the days that followed, more medals were given out as competitions took place in front of some of France’s most well-known sights: fencing at the Grand Palais, beach volleyball under the Eiffel Tower, and horse competitions in the Versailles grounds.

Once again raising the emotions of the previously unconvinced local populace, the closing ceremony, which included hundreds of performers and live music from worldwide pop icons, provided the city with one more opportunity to revel in the excitement of these Olympics. Amidst the athletes on the stadium floor, Tom Cruise, strapped to a wire, swooped down from the stadium roof to the theme song from “Mission Impossible.” It was a spectacular showmanship move straight out of Hollywood. Then, after being given the Olympic flag by Parisian officials and American Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, Cruise rode off on a motorcycle to Los Angeles, which was hosting the next Summer Games in 2028 and was featuring the performances by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Billie Eilish, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. The next Winter Games will take place in Milan and Cortina, Italy, in February 2026.
At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games closing ceremony, French singer Yseult stunned the audience with her stunning performance. She was dressed in an incredible Dior Haute Couture gown, honoring the illustrious fashion house’s long legacy.
The outfit, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, included a black silk New Bar jacket, a contemporary take on the iconic Bar jacket that made its debut in the 1940s as a component of Christian Dior’s ground-breaking “New Look.” This style embodies the eternal elegance of Dior with its beautiful shape and structured, tight waist.
Yseult gave the traditional outfit a modern spin by teaming the blazer with a billowing black silk skirt. Her shoes, gloves, and Dior hat completed the ensemble, making her the picture-perfect example of French haute couture.
Her performance, which combined high design with a strong musical presence, was as magnificent as her outfit and a suitable way to round out the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris came to an official end when Thomas Bach, the outgoing president of the International Olympic Committee, declared the event to be “sensational.”
